Hey Friends!
Quick health update. Brent is doing GREAT! He’s back working out at the gym and carrying his own guitar. Things are pretty much back to normal around here.

THANKS to everyone who ordered “I’ve Got A Beach In My Backyard” after hearing “Retired,” Brent’s duet with two time Grammy winner Ray Stevens, on the Big D & Bubba Show! Lots of orders! We now have “Retired” tee shirts! Check them out on the website, http://www.brentburns.com/online.htm

THANKS to Pat & Dan Kaley for taking care of Brent at Phlocking of the Phaithful in Put In Bay, OH. Brent is no longer a Phlocking virgin! If anyone has some pictures, I’d love to have a few for the website. Email them to me, sandspur@gulftel.com.

THANKS to Mayor Jim Smith and the entire staff of the Lake Erie Crushers for inviting Brent to be the pre-game entertainment June 14. In addition to doing the pre-game, Brent did the National Anthem and threw out the first pitch! They asked him to play 2nd base, but Brent had to protect the “golden arm”!

THANKS to Pam & Tom Hatley in Herrin, IL and Karen Scott and the Memphis Parrothead Club for hosting their events June 26 & 27. GREAT FUN!

TropiCast FAQs

What is The TropiCast Radio Network?

TropiCast is a network of audio and video podcasts as well as streaming radio dedicated to promoting the current and future stars of the musical genre known as "Trop Rock". The Network also features the Trop Rock News Wire, an RSS news feed featuring all the news and information we receive from the artists we play, various Parrot Head clubs and other organizations that like us, have taken up the Trop Rock cause. We also now feature a Trop Rock event calendar that features listings for these artists and events. TropiCast can be accessed from these very pages, iTunes and numerous other "podcast" directories.

What is "Trop Rock"?

"Trop Rock" is a genre of music, or collection of genres all tied together by stories of tropical islands, sun soaked beaches, string bikinis and the search for the perfect boat drink. We take what Jimmy Buffett started and run with it.

Do I need an iPod to listen?

NO! The term "podcast" was coined by Adam Curry (you know, the guy from MTV with the big hair.) who actually first experimented with the concept of an entire program enclosed in one big audio file. The TropiCast Podcasts are MP3 files and can be played and listened to on ANY computer, ANY portable digital audio player or burned to a disc and listened to on ANY CD player.
So when we say Enjoy! We mean it.

As a matter of fact, find an episode on the player up above that looks interesting, press play, give it a minute to download and you can listen right here!
